Update from Kenora District Camp Owners Association
Jacqui Haukeness and Greg Waites attended the Provincial Hunting – Fishing – Trapping roundtable meetings in Kenora. They presented many of the concerns that the members of KDCA have to the panel. KDCA submitted a written submission to Ontario’s Prebudget Consultations, explained how Resource Based Tourism puts new tax dollars into the communities of NW Ontario and creates jobs in the local economies. Tourism is the third largest sector in the Ontario economy. After the panel discussions, Jacqui and Greg attended MPP Greg Rickford’s reception for Minister John Yakabuski of the MNRF and received some quality time with government officials.
It is time to remind all the Allied Members that KDCA’s spring meeting on May 3, 2019 is only two months away. We hope to see all the Allied’s at the business meeting and at the dinner and dance afterwards. The Allied’s are an integral part of the whole tourism economy and without you the Camps would surly have a harder time providing a world class adventure, in our vast and magnificent land. The Allied’s support is greatly appreciated. See you at the party.
